Induction task- The Exchange
Evaluation
The continuity was good throughout as everything flowed smoothly however there is a scene that I thought didn't flow well and this means the shot felt off but to try and fix this we put it in slow motion. The shots we used were good as it showed match on action, pans, an establishing shot and close ups. The way we have edited the clips together make it feel smooth and uses the different shot types well. To improve next time I feel like I could have got more involved with the editing and shooting the scenes and contribute more to the ideas we come up with. The idea we had come up with is great as we managed to use the word exchange and turn it into love and the typical type of exchange is packages and these normally are played out to be something sinister but we spun that on it's head which our narrative explains. When we started editing, we used loads of cross dissolves and this helped the flow of the short movie. we had good quality of shots as the focus was where we wanted the audience and camera to focus on. we used a match on action shot which worked well with the narrative as it showed their plan to meet up and want the audience would expect to see after they start typing back. We also used royalty free music which helped move the story along and foreshadow the scenes about to follow. We also used ambient sounds well as it helped us get across their locations and the sound that would most likely be in the background. For example, Benjamin was outside so we added sound effects of birds and wing while Jasmine was in a school environment and we used school noises to portray this.
